The snow ended up being a nothing burger but it's still nasty out due to FRIGID COLD TEMPS (5 now, going down to zero & even negative nums overnight) plus NASTY GUSTY WINDS that I can feel right through the windows...

I took my nephew to the zoo today since he didn't have school.

It was chilly but not rainy until the end when it did start to rain.

RAIN IS COMING.

There is a Lunar Lantern festival right down the road from here. They released lanterns that have little candles in them. We are in a drought, and the freezing winter storm we had killed almost all the grass and weeds, so everything is crunchy and dry. I can't believe they let them do that last night. They'll probably get rained out tonight. I'm sure it was lovely and fun, but that is crazy. There have been brush fires all around for the past week.

I've always wanted to do the lantern thing-but the environmental impact can be slightly hazardous.....and sometimes parts aren't picked up when they float away....

Now all of sudden they're calling for a blizzard warning in my area over the weekend, but my town is only supposed to get 3-6 inches Sunday, AND the temps may not even go below freezing, so I don't know what the f they're talking about...
